A Market order is an order to buy or sell immediately at the current price. This guarantees that your order will be attempted to be executed immediately.

A Limit order allows you to buy and sell stocks at a certain price in the future. With limit order, you set the maximum you are willing to buy and the minimum price you are willing to sell. Your order would not be executed until the condition you have set is fulfilled.
